Florida Authors > Michael Koryta
A fairly recent addition to the pantheon of Florida Crime Fiction writers, Michael was born in Bloomington, Indiana where he subsequently earned a BA in Criminal justice. A former newspaper reporter and licensed private investigator, he applied this background to his award-winning debut, “Tonight I Said Goodbye” and subsequent novels in the Lincoln Perry series.
With his migration from St. Martin’s Press to Little, Brown and Co. Michael is exploring a noir-ish style that incorporates supernatural elements and with his latest, Cypress House is truly poised to burst upon the Mystery/Suspense stage in earnest.
He now divides his time between his native Indiana and his home in St. Petersburg and is a regular participant—along with Dennis Lehane —at Eckerd College’s “Writers in Paradise” conference.
